A Beautiful Exchange

Tonight we went for a walk in our neighborhood. It was such a beautiful evening, we just needed to get some fresh air. As we were approaching two young girls, about 9 or 10 years old, Caleb joyfully said, "Hi!"

They said, "hi," back with the typical hesitancy and stares as they looked at this 4-year-old in this strange contraption.

As he continued towards them, Caleb then said, "Do you know what this thing is?" as he rubbed the handles of his walker.

They replied, now with smiles on their faces, "No."

Caleb said, "It's my walker. I need to use it 'cuz my muscles work differently."

"Oh, that's really cool. I like the color," one of the girls said.

As Jeff and I stood proudly watching this exchange, giant grins came on our faces. What more could we ask for than for our son to be comfortable and confident in his differences, and thus putting others at ease. The maturity and wisdom Caleb displays never ceases to amaze me. He may only be 4 years old, but sometimes he truly feels like a much older soul.

A Singing Montage

We have had a very musical household lately. Here's a little tribute to Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, and more!

Make sure to pause the music on the right to hear Caleb better.

Caleb's Original

Here is a Caleb original tune. Note the new way to hold a ukuleli :) Right before I turned on the camera, Caleb exclaimed, "Hey mom, I'm getting good at this! I wasn't good before, but I practiced and practiced and now I'm good!"

"The Zuga-Zug, 1,2,3"

We might need to work on the ending a little :)

Caleb Loves to Sing!

Holy Moley! Long time no blog!!! Apparently time really does fly.

Here are some videos of Caleb singing. He sings all the time now, it's so fun. These are just a few of his "regulars". He may not always get the words right, but the boy's actually got some tune :)

Make sure to pause the music on the right to hear him better!
